Camps at Mason Community Center present a world of opportunity. Keep your children active and entertained during the summer and selected school breaks. Whether your children like arts and crafts, sports, games, and/or technology, we have a camp they’re sure to enjoy. Be sure to register at least a week in advance. No School? No Problem.

When the Mason City Schools are closed for a scheduled break or due to weather, we have a solution for you. With group games, sporting activities, movies, swimming, and more, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that you have a safe, fun place for your child to spend the day.

School’s Out Fun Day camp occurs during the school year from 9am-4pm on selected holidays that the Mason City School District has a scheduled closing. Register in advance.

If you are looking for a solution to those days when Mason City Schools are closed due to inclement weather, bring your children to the Mason Community Center’s Snow Day Camp from 9am-5pm. Registration becomes available whenever the schools announce a weather closing.

summer fun camp

Designed for children ages 6 through 15 from 9am-4pm. Each week will feature a special theme, group games, crafts, and sports activities customized for each age group Colorful Cardinals,6; Sporty Squirrels, 7; Brave Bobcats, 8; Daring Dear, 9; Brilliant Bats, 10; Wise Wolves, 11-12; Counselors in Training, 13-15. All campers will enjoy a movie day, field trip and three 30-minute Swim America swim classes with extra free swim time each week. Please notify the Camp Coordinator if you will be picking up early or dropping off late. Camp Keepers ‘Extended Hours’ program for selected camps provide added convenience for parents who have a longer day and wish to drop their children off between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. or pick them up between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

sports camps

Through our partnerships with Laffalot Camps and Skyhawks Sports, the Mason Community Center offers one week long camps for multi-sport and specific sports interests such as Tennis Camp, Mini Hawks Camp, Tiny Hawks Camp, Golf Camp, Multi-Sport Camp, and Basketball Camp.

enrichment camps

Through partnerships with World of Spanish, i-Dap Academy, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Abrakadoodle, campers will have fun learning new skills while building their interests in technology, art, foreign languages, and acting.

Safety Camp

This program is sponsored by the City of Mason Police, Fire, and Parks & Recreation Departments. Help your child be more aware of what to do in dangerous situations. Safety Camp will teach your child fire safety, first aid, water safety, bullying, playground safety, internet safety, strangers, and animal control, along with many other necessary life skills.

Camp Form

The Participation Information Sheet is required for all campers to participate. This form may be turned in prior to or the morning of camp.
