Take time this Christmas season to enjoy all of the fun holiday events and activities that are happening in the Mason community throughout the month of December!

Tree Lighting Ceremony
Friday, December 3
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Mason Downtown Plaza

On Friday, December 3 join the community in celebrating the beginning of the Christmas in Mason season with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Mason Downtown Plaza. This event is free and open to the public to enjoy!

Join your neighbors beginning at 6:30 p.m. for holiday music, activities, FREE photos with Santa, food and refreshments, adult beverages provided by the American Legion, ice-less skating, trackless train rides, a mechanical snowboard and more! While at the event, help the City count down to the official lighting of the Christmas tree!

Interested in promoting your business at the Tree Lighting Ceremony? Local Mason businesses are encouraged to take advantage of a free promotional opportunity at this year’s Tree Lighting Ceremony. Mason businesses are welcome to participate as an exhibitor or vendor at the event for FREE! The City will also once again be promoting all local Holiday activities taking place in the community as part of the 2021 Christmas in Mason Calendar. Local business owners and organizations are encouraged to submit their holiday event, program, or discount in the 2021 calendar for FREE! The 2021 Christmas in Mason Calendar will be distributed at the Tree Lighting Ceremony and will also be promoted on the City’s website. Road Closures
For safety reasons, West Main Street from the intersection of US Route 42 to North Forest Avenue and North West Street from the intersection of US Route 42 to Church Street will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 3 until the conclusion of the event. Detours will be provided. Please use caution and allow for additional time when traveling through this area.

Help support local businesses at Mason Community Center’s annual Shop Local event on Wednesday, December 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mason Community Center Gymnasium. Shop Local features Mason area merchants and home sales vendors selling gift items, jewelry, art, paintings, scarves, and more. Shop Local is event is open to the public. Breakfast with Santa

Mason Golf Center CourseView Pavilion

Celebrate the holiday season with a special breakfast with Santa event on Sunday, December 5 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Participants get a one-on-one visit and photo opportunity with Santa while enjoying breakfast and a holiday activity. Participants can enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride through the Golf Course as well as performances by Christmas Carolers throughout the event! Registration is required.

Santa in your Neighborhood

Santa is making one last stop in Mason, Ohio before he heads back to the North Pole to prepare for Christmas! Join us on Saturday, December 11 as Santa makes his way around the Mason community from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Santa will begin at Fire Station 51 at 9 a.m. and make his way throughout the community following the below schedule:

Fire Station 51 · 9 to 9:15 a.m.
Makino Park · 9:30 to 9:45 a.m.
Quinn Park · 10 to 10:15 a.m.
Fire Station 52 · 10:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Pine Hill Lakes Park · 11 to 11:15 a.m.
Mason Community Center · 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Kids Korner Holiday Crafts

Come celebrate the Holiday season with the City of Mason with a festive craft at the Mason Community Center! On Saturday, December 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Kids Korner will be offering free holiday crafts for all. Hop in Santa’s sleigh or chair in the lobby of the Community Center for a fun family photo opportunity! The holiday fun does not stop there – stick around as Santa visits the Mason Community Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.! The event is free and open for the public to enjoy.

Letters from Santa

Let us help you make memories this Christmas season by receiving a personal letter from Santa. Parents and guardians interested in having their child receive a letter, please complete the personal letter from Santa Form and return to:

Requests for letters must be received by December 10, 2021 to guarantee a return letter from Santa.

Mason Cares Program

Help provide to families in need this holiday season by joining the City of Mason in partnership with Mason City Schools and Joshua’s Place in the annual Mason Cares program. The Mason Cares Program provides the opportunity to give back to our community by assisting parents or guardians in providing holiday gifts for their children. The program includes adopting families or donating new and unwrapped toys, clothes, and gift cards. Donations will be accepted in collection barrels at the Community Center. If you are interested in adopting a family in need, please contact Joshua’s place at 513.617.9099.
