Fortune Well launched the inaugural Fortune 25 Best Places to Live for Families, evaluating nearly 2,000 communities with a population of 25,000 to 750,000 residents across all 50 states in the areas of education, aging resources, general wellness, financial health and livability. Fortune’s ranking focused on families, particularly the subset of Americans, referred to as the “sandwich generation” who are shouldering the responsibilities of raising their own children while caring for aging parents.
The City of Mason is proud to announce that Mason, Ohio has been ranked the 4th Best Place to live for families in the United States and the only community ranked in the top 25 in State of Ohio!
This recognition is a result of the City of Mason’s continuous commitment to building a culture of wellness in the community that supports active lifestyles for all ages. The Mason Community Center and the Mason Municipal Aquatic Center are state-of-the-art amenities that are at the heart of programming, activities, education and services aimed at building a healthier and stronger community. Eight community parks offer over 300 acres for both active and passive activities, 17 miles of bike trails including connection to the Little Miami Scenic Trail – the longest trail in the Little Miami Trail network, ultimately providing 75 miles of additional bike paths, a dog park and inclusive play. High profile attractions such as Kings Island, the Western Southern Tennis Open and PPA Baird Management Pickleball Open further enhance Mason’s culture of community wellness.
The Culture of Wellness does not stop at Mason’s complement of amenities. The City of Mason has a well-established corporate portfolio of companies in the healthcare, life science and innovation sectors. This recruitment and company growth strategy has led to the development of Public-Private Partnerships (P3) and the City of Mason Living Lab Initiative that leverages some of the most forward-thinking technologies and solutions, making them available resources for Mason community members. The Mason Municipal Center is proud to be a part of the City’s Living Lab as it is home to two companies, Myriad Genetics and Genetesis Cardiology Imaging Institute. Myriad Genetics is a precision medicine company whose lab analyzes genetic variations, determining how a patient metabolizes medications and guides treatment decisions. Genetesis, founded in 2013 by then 18-year-old local Mason High School grads is paving the way for the future of integrated bio magnetic solutions to improve patients’ health. Their flagship device is used to measure the magnetic fields produced by electrical activity in the heart and detect the onset of cardiovascular disease. Myriad and Genetesis are just two of many Mason companies developing groundbreaking innovations that the City is able to adopt and bring directly to our Mason residents first as part of our partnerships and wellness commitment.
Thank you Mason residents and businesses for continuing to support the City’s mission of building a culture of wellness and the complement of recreational amenities offered in the Mason community!
