The City continues to engage the community in celebrating being named 4th Best Place to Live for Families in the United States by Fortune Well. Mason City Council encourages you to celebrate social engagement in the community in July with this FREE regional event intended to showcase the quality of life that Mason has to offer!
ENTERTAINMENT
The City of Mason is excited to announce the 2023 Red, Rhythm and Boom will feature multi-platinum rock band Gin Blossoms with an opening performance by Lit!
Gin Blossoms is an American alternative rock band and one of the most in demand 90’s live artists. Gin Blossoms popular hits such as “Hey Jealousy” and “Found Out About You” are sure to keep the crowd rocking throughout the evening on July 3! The City of Mason is also excited to announce the 2023 Red, Rhythm & Boom will kick off with the American rock band Lit at 6:00 p.m.! Gin Blossoms will take the stage at 8:30 p.m.
GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION
The fun will begin at 4:00 p.m. with access to carnival and kid zone activities such as a 9-hole putt-putt course, new slides and bounce houses, carnival games, a trackless train, and more! Guests can also enjoy a wide variety of food truck options as well as adult beverages available throughout the evening. Stage entertainment will kick off at 6:00 p.m. and will continue throughout the night with a fireworks display presented by Rozzi Famous Fireworks at 10:00 p.m. We hope you can join us!
TICKETS
The event is FREE (no admission ticket is required). All lawn seating is first come, first serve beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 3. Backstage passes are not available.

Interested in volunteering at the event? Volunteers of all ages and abilities are needed to help make this event a success! Organizations or groups who gather at least ten people to volunteer for a four-hour shift each will receive a $200 donation to their organization or group.

WEATHER POLICY
Mason’s Red Rhythm and Boom will be held rain or shine and will not be rescheduled. In the event of severe weather, updates will be posted on the City of Mason’s social media pages for any cancellations. The City encourages residents and event participants to download the FREE Code Red Mobile App on their mobile phone to receive up to date weather and safety notifications regarding the event.
TRAFFIC & ROAD CLOSURES
Lakeside Drive between Mason Montgomery Road and Foxfield Drive and Mason Montgomery Road from Foxfield Drive to Lakeside Drive will close beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3 for event set up. The Mason Municipal Center and Community Center Campus can be accessed using Nixon Park Drive and Foxfield Drive during this time. Detours will be provided.
MASON COMMUNITY CENTER & AQUATIC CENTER
Mason Community Center will be open from 6:00 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 3.
The Mason Municipal Aquatic Center will not be open on Monday, July 3.
